Five tests for a good first project
Score each idea you are considering against these five questions. A good first project answers yes to at least four.
- Is it repeated often? Daily or weekly beats occasionally.
- Does the information already exist? In documents, spreadsheets or a database.
- Can one person own it? A named owner signs off the result.
- Is a mistake recoverable? A person reviews the output first.
- Can you measure it? Count it today, before anything changes.
